Drainage Authority
A Drainage Authority is an organisation with a responsibility for providing and maintaining drainage infrastructure.
Local Councils typically have the responsibility for the management of stormwater drainage at the local or precinct level (generally catchments below 60ha) within local roads and streetscapes. State government agencies (e.g. Melbourne Water) may have the responsibility for some trunk drainage, and major wetlands and waterways.
