Fixed Asset Register

A fixed asset register is a high-level, asset register designed primarily to cater for the financial aspects of asset management rather than the engineering & operational aspects of asset management.

Fixed asset registers may be designed to;

  • manage all types of property, plant and equipment
  • calculate the costs of asset ownership
  • document business processes and recored audit trails
  • comply with taxation requirements

The Australian Infrastructure Financial Management Guidelines refer to a fixed asset register as a financial asset register.
