Natural Surface Road

A natural surface road is a formed road, that is a road on which no surface has been laid.

The Victoria Grants Commission defines a natural surface road is defined as "a cleared, flat, bladed track without a surface that is required for seasonal, but not necessarily all weather access, and will require occasional blading. They include unused roads in rural areas, which are maintained at a basic level for occasional fire access."
